Personal Real Estate Experiences

Los Angeles My husband, Mike, and I started exploring the world of real estate in 2009 and bought our first home in 2010. We studied the local real estate market to determine the appropriate renovations and updates to perform on our out-dated home in order to achieve the maximum increase in property value. After completing our renovations, we staged our home and listed it in 2013. After being on the market for only a week, we received 22 offers. Our final sale price was 10% over the list price.  During this experience I learned many valuable skills related to both buying and selling real estate, and discovered that I had a undeniable interest in the industry.

Folsom Acting as our buyer's agent, I led Mike through a thorough tour of the Orangevale and Folsom real estate markets to find the right starter home for our family.  When we found our house, the list price was above the assessed market value.  Through seller education, I negotiated the sale price down almost 10% from the list price and navigated an aggressively short escrow process to close ahead of schedule.  After an extensive renovation, Mike and I are thrilled with our new home!

My Career Prior to Real Estate

I joined Lyon Real Estate after working as an aerospace engineer at Boeing for 8 years.  I started my career performing thermal analysis on the Space Shuttle program, supporting the STS-121 mission at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.  After relocating to Los Angeles, I became a satellite flight software test engineer for the attitude control subsystem group.  This opened the door to positions on mission operations teams, customer support roles, and new product design and development teams.  As a result of my management skills on a multi-million dollar project, I received a World Class Engineering Award for Leadership.

In My Free Time

I enjoy outdoor activities, nature, travel, and adventure.  I also enjoy cooking, especially experimenting with new ingredients and flavors.  My husband and I are animal lovers- he's a cat person, but I'm a dog person- so we have both!

It was a pleasure working with Lyon, and Crystal was absolutely outstanding! She provided extremely valuable advice for getting it on the market, and assembled a very professional support team for staging and prep which resulted in all offers coming in at 15-20k above asking. She went above and beyond for helping coordinate contractors to support final repairs, and made it really easy to close the deal long distance. I would highly recommend her for future relocation sales as well as any other home sales.

Additional Testimonials

Please let the firm's broker know that my client chose Crystal from several referral choices, and she was extremely happy with her choice. My client is a very strong woman with equally strong opinions and Crystal was patient and professional in her advice to our now shared client. This all reflects on me and I personally would like the broker to know that professional, caring agents still exist in our increasingly impersonal business. I will certainly look to Crystal when I have clients relocating to your area.

Crystal was simply wonderful she helped me through every single step of the home buying process she even helped me pick a lender that would give my wife and I the best possible rates. I could not have asked for more from a real estate agent she was simply fantastic the whole way through. This was my first home buying experience and I was honestly nervous, Crystal was available, patient, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the home buying process. She made it easy to find the home of my dreams. I am eternally grateful for Crystal. To anyone looking for an agent Crystal is simply outstanding I could not recommend her more.

Crystal is a the real estate agent that first-time homebuyers (like myself) dream about! Her knowledge and willingness to walk me through the process added a level of comfort that I wouldn't otherwise have had. She was always willing to work around my busy schedule and would contact me immediately if she saw a house come on the market that she thought fit my needs. Crystal really went above and beyond my expectations and I can honestly say that I wouldn't be in the house I am in without her! Everyone I worked with in the process made comments like: "you have such a great agent" and "Crystal is really looking out for you" and all I could do was nod and say "oh, trust me, I know!" Crystal would get things done before I even realized it needed to be done; and always kept me up-to-date on the progress of my offer and escrow. Her calm and collected manner combined with her knack for negotiation ensured that I got the best home I possibly could for my money. Plus, her quick-wit made house hunting a fun experience rather than a frustrating one. If I had to go through the process all over again, Crystal would be my go-to agent and I would highly recommend her to anyone entering the home buying process.

We are glad we found Crystal earlier on in our home buying journey. As first time home buyers, we were very unsure of the whole process. But Crystal clearly explained every step of this process and helped us buy our dream home in El Dorado Hills. At the very outset she noted down our list of likes, dislikes, and must-haves in a home and helped streamline our search. She was always very punctual and very accommodating to our schedule while showing us homes. We toured several open houses and saw numerous old/new homes in Folsom and El Dorado Hills with her before picking the home we bought. Though we were picky buyers, she was never pushy and always gave us space to make our decisions. Crystal’s knowledge of the escrow process and the arsenal of highly rated inspectors that she collaborates with were extremely useful in carrying us through the home stretch of home buying process. Even after the close of escrow Crystal constantly checked in on us to make sure that all our queries about our new homes were answered. We had an amazing experience with Crystal and would highly recommend her if you are planning to buy or sell a home in Folsom/El Dorado Hills area

Crystal Francis is an articulate professional that makes the house buying process easy, fun, and educational. What strikes me about Crystal is that she makes all feel a win-win in the transaction, while getting her clients the best deal available. She is a great negotiator and really cares. She's a great person to work with both as a client and as a partner. Crystal understands real estate not only as an agent but she is an investor as well. I highly recommend Crystal for your Folsom Real Estate and El Dorado Hills Real Estate needs. I feel confident in referring her to my clients as well as working with her again. I have known Crystal for six years and have had the good fortune to work with her on two real estate transactions. During our collaborations, I found Crystal to be meticulous, energetic, and friendly. She also possesses a great understanding of property values including having the foresight to see cost-effective fixes that can be done to a property to enhance its after-repair value. All of these traits I think are invaluable to have in your real estate agent. Whether you are looking for your forever home, or selling your current home to get to your next stage, you should decide to have Crystal on your side; you'll be glad you did.
